Welcome!
A Little Background...
Located in Southwest Montana, Burch Equine and Custom Leather is owned by Ivan Burch. As a working cowboy on a large cattle ranch Ivan strives to produce quality horses and gear. With each new horse, one goal is common, to make this one better than the last.
Leather work has been both a hobby and necessity for Ivan working in the feedyard and on the ranch. With the exception of his saddle, Ivan makes his tack and takes custom orders for gear. Some of his projects include tapaderos, headstalls, slobber straps, cuffs, breast collers, saddle bags, holsters, knife cases, spur straps, wallets, chaps, chinks, and various other projects. Ivan also does repair work.
Unhappy with the cinches in town, Ivan has taken up the art of hand tying mohair cinches. These cinches are made with 100% mohair (8 ply) cord or 96% mohair 4% wool (16 ply) cord. Mohair is a natural fiber that is durable, wicks moisture, and natually contains lanolin which helps to prevent the animal from galls and sores.
